Bill Pargaman, a past chair of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, has prepared a preliminary guide to alternative methods of execution of estate planning documents under existing law, which our members may find helpful. The guide is posted under "COVID-19 Resources" on this page.

Dear Section Members:

For the health and safety of our members, the March 31st Probate, Trusts & Estates Section meeting will be canceled.   Our March speaker, Arielle Prangner, with Davis & Willms, has provided her paper entitled "Ten Things Every Estate Planner Needs to Know About Subchapter J" which is linked below and also posted on our section page on the HBA website.  You may claim Self-Study credit through the State Bar of Texas.  There are no ethics credits associated with the paper.

At the end of March, the HBA will assess the situation with COVID-19 and determine how to move forward with HBA meetings and events.

Thank you,
Molly Dear Abshire
Section Chair
